We headed to Palm Desert for a combo Mother's Day/birthday celebration a couple of weekends ago.
Although it is less than 2 hours away, there is something about the dry, hot desert air and moutains that jet straight up to meet the ocean blue sky that make me feel a world away from my daily life.
We quickly transformed into vacay mode and plopped down on the lounge chairs while let the kids dig, swim, and splash.

Enjoy the weekend, friends!
Much love,
Katie

So beautiful! Doesn't the salt in the air just automatically relax your mind?
Have a great weekend!

Hello. I'm a new reader ... like your blog. I'm a San Diego native myself but I currently live in Tucson {ugh}. Nice little getaway to Palm Desert. There's totally SO much to love about San Diego. We hope to move back sometime in about a year and a half and I can't wait.
Blessings.
Been there!!! My husband always complains of it being too hot. I actually like it that way very much...I mean look were I come from? ;) We will be there in October this year I think. We usually stay at the Marriott Palm Desert.Fun gateway for you and fun fun fun pictures!
looks like a ton of fun to me!

How fun! I have never been to Palm desert! Someday!
It looks absolutely gorgeous! I would never have to "go" on vacation living there.
Love the last shot of Luke!!
HOW FUN!!! I am jealous of your proximity to the ocean :D
I live on the east coast and actually just booked a palm desert vacation rental. It is really assuring to hear that people on the west coast like yourself view this as a great place to vacation and take the family. We've done plenty of "beachy" vacations and were looking for something a little different. The scenery looks beautiful and hopefully my kids have as much fun as yours!
