wiww

I am coming right out and admitting that this post FREAKS me out. Big time. Big enough that I've been debating whether or not to do it all week.

For those of you who are unfamiliar to What I Wore Wednesday, let me fill you in...
In an effort to encourage ladies to get out of those all too comfy yoga pants, Uggs, and hoodies, brave women are linking up what they wore during the week on The Pleated Poppy. It is fun. It is harmless. It has forced me to get out of my comfort zone and more specifically, out of wearing my Rainbows (flip-flops), jeans, and plain shirt combo everyday.

B-O-R-I-N-G

I've been contemplating how I can do this to make it practical and fun. I am focusing on making mama hot on a budget. Pre-kids, I shopped high end stores without a thought. Now that I am staying home with the kiddos I have to scale back. I am sure many of you can relate. I'm also keeping it real. I have two kids in preschool, as well as a 2nd grader. Life is messy around here and we don't have a huge need to dress up. I'm keeping it kid-friendly cuz that's my life.

Oh, one more thing. Ignore my weird, dorky expressions. I'm not sure if I should smile at myself in the mirror (cheesy) or just stare (kinda scary). Your thoughts on this one?

And for those of you who knew me back in high school days, yes I've gained 5 pounds (ugh!) but, I guess being on prednisone for my lupus and having 3 kids will do that! Don't we all want our high school bodies back? Well, I do at least!

Oh, yeah, one more thing. Ignore my inability to photograph myself. I am crooked in a few shots and left my laundry basket in full view. Nice one, Katie!

So here we go. Just an average mom moving beyond yoga pants on a budget....

Love the shirt detail...

Happy Wednesday, Friends! Now go get out of those yoga pants!

Or not.

Stay in them, sink into your comfy couch, put your feet up, and drink a second cup of coffee for me.

Much love,
Katie

I love your fearlessness in this post--but I may slap you for the "5 pounds" comment.
Just sayin.
And yes, you look hot!
Love from,
Greta

Way to go, girl! I love the WIWW posts but have never dared to take the plunge. You have such a fun style! Maybe, just maybe, I'll get up the gumption and post next week. You've inspired me! And five pounds since high school? I think I've gained five pounds since breakfast! HA!

I LOVE LOVE all your looks!! My absolute favorite is the first one. Good work. I started photographing outfits that I like so I can refer to my photos when I can't figure out what to wear that day and want to just climb into my yoga pants... and I'm not even a stay-at-home mom! :)

YAY!!!!! I'm so excited to see you linking up for WIWW. It is freaky the first few times, but then it gets kind of fun. I felt like such a frump before starting to link up, and now I am really impressed with the creativity that showing WIWW has forced me to come up with. It's motivating for sure. You are SO CUTE and STYLISH!!! Keep up the posts!

You are adorable in every single one of those outfits! Who cares about those five pounds (which probably aren't even there) anyway? You look great! I especially love the striped shirt with the flowers near the shoulder.

Love all those outfits, especially the striped top from Kohl's. Sometimes I find the cutest stuff there. I also love finding good rings at Forever 21...so cheap and so fun! And I don't think I would have noticed any laundry baskets if you hadn't mentioned it. ;)

You inspired me to give this challenge a shot! I love clothes and have made it my mission to stay "put together" even though I have two kids and I am out the door early!! Guess I will start choosing my "best" outfits for Wednesdays! :) :) :)
