It's a God Thing Weekend Link Up-steps to grace and mercy

Dear God,

Please help me to be patient with my kids. Having all 3 of them home all the time during summer has been a transition for us. I'm yelling more than I want to. I am using unkind words and showing my frustration.

Thank you for loving me despite my flaws. I keep thinking of your love for us even though we fail to live up to your standards every day. May I show the same love and patience towards my children even though I know they will fail to live up to my unrealistic standards. Remind me to teach them and guide them when they misbehave. May I bring my frustrations to you instead of reacting to them.

Thank you for your grace and mercy. Please help me to take the steps necessary to demonstrate grace and mercy in this home.

Love,
Katie

Great prayer. I need to pray that often, too.

Last few weeks in church I've been confessing my "lack of patience" to God. It's hard in summer...many great things, but that's one of the things that's not so great and I am sure it happens to all of us! Peace and Blessings my friend!

Thank you for this post Katie...so glad I'm not alone! I don't know if its the hot summer weather, the lack of a school schedule, or the pool water still in my boys ears, but I am finding that I am repeating myself way too much and counting to ten numerous times in the day! I'm praying for grace, mercy, and patience with my kids right along with you!
