I'm embracing the camera today and will be linking up with Emily. I accidentally linked up another post, but here's the one I intended for the link up. I din't have my coffee before linking up...oops!
Check me out in all my spender after my gym work out. This is how I look most days until the afternoon when I finally get a shower and put on real clothes. I'm putting it all out there, friends. Good-bye vanity!
Check out my roots. I am not ashamed. I am not ashamed. Okay, a little ashamed. Must get roots done. Must get roots done.
Lovely acne. Who knew your 30's can bring on embarrassing acne? Talk about bringing me back to jr. high insecurities.
Lupus butterfly rash. You don't even want to know how often people exclaim, "wow, you got really sunburned." I grew tired of my "oh, I have lupus" speech so now I just say, "I know." Does that count as lying???
In addition to baring it all with the photos, here's a few other randoms that will give you the down low on me:
1. My favorite color is green. Always has been. Always will be.
2. My favorite dessert is mint chocolate chip ice cream. Thrifty brand preferably, but I can roll with others.
3. I'm 5'4" and would give my right arm to be at least 5'8".
4. I am a jeans kind of a girl and could live anywhere that has 65 degree (sunny, no wind) weather year round in a heartbeat.
5. I dream of leaving the suburbs of sunny California to restore and live in a farmhouse with land and horses even though I don't ride horses.
6. I rather go to the gyno than the dentist. Just being real, yo.
7. I am missing one of the front bottom teeth. You know, the group of 4? I have three teeth. Childhood x-rays show that it never came in. No gap, I just don't have it.
8. I was born 2 months early and slept in a drawer (yes, a drawer) at my aunt and uncle's house since my mom was still hospitalized for her lupus and my dad had 2 other kids and work to handle.
9. I am not a cat or small dog person; just big dogs. Sorry little dog and cat people.
10. I switched my college major several times and still managed to graduate a semester early. I am a crazy fool that way: theology, theatre, psychology, sociology, communications, and liberal studies.
11. I quit my 1st student teaching program, to move closer to Los Angles to pursue acting.
12. I started my 2nd student teaching program 8 months later. I never gave the acting gig a go.
13. I swore that I'd not get married until I was 30.
14. I married at 21 and had 3 kids by 30.
15. I am extremely moody until I have my cup of happy (coffee) in the morning. I use Trader Joe's instant. Don't judge. It's is fast and hassle free and believe it or not, it is sooo yummy. 2 scoops of chocolate creamer, my laptop ready for blog reading, and I'm a happy girl.
16. I'm afraid of heights. I consider flying in an airplane a death sentence even though I know the odds.
17. I rather clean toilets than wash and change bed sheets. My boys have bunk beds. That explains it.
18. Small toys with lots of pieces drive me insane. So does play-doh. Oh, so does finger paint.
19. Although I am super outgoing once I'm comfortable, I have a hard time in new situations with people I don't know.
20. Funny people are my favorite people to hang out with. Dry, witty humor kills me.
Now that I've spilled the beans, what is something random about yourself? Do tell!
Much love,
Katie

oh my gosh, I consider flying a death sentence as well....2 years ago i actually GOT OFF a plane from san fran and made my mom drive me home....while my hubby and the boys flew home. i . have. issues. ha!
So glad I read this before I went to sleep. Funny stuff! We have a lot in common, which is no surprise. I guess that's why I adore your blog. I usually do a random list on my birthday so I'd better get started now to get all of my random info in by September ;)
I'm with you on 5,6,16,18,19 and 20. The kids (with encouragement from the hubs) want bunk beds. I couldn't stand changing crib sheets, no way will I do bunk beds! Oh, and I am with you on the acne and rashes too. Super jealous of the girls with perfect skin and no make-up. One day...
Are you my twin? I think so. And.... I really want to make this lunch thing happen with you. You still down? Since we're both awkward with new people, it could be completely brilliant.
Loved reading about all your personal "odds and ends." You slept in a drawer? That's pretty awesome. ;0) My mom told me she brought me home from the hospital in a box. I guess that was before car seats were the law... :0)
I removed previous comment because I had misspelled words...dork, I know. #16 made me laugh because that is so so me. And I struggle too with acne breakouts now in my 30's more than I ever did in teens..:)
i love this post. and i love posts like this - all of the fun facts! :)
you are so cute.
and i vote you rock the roots and just call it "ombre" - you are UBER in style! :)
and ps i totally would have guessed you were 5'8" or TALLER :)

that is great! i just spilled some beans of my own:
http://foundbymarie.blogspot.com/2011/07/tidbits-about-me.html
ps. my fav color is also green, and i stack up to a lofty 5'1" --there are those of us who would envy a 5'4" woman!
Oh my goodness! This post is killing me...You're hilarious! I loved reading all these fun facts about you. You've got me on the height by over an inch, I'm jealous. And we have something in common, I don't have my two front teeth, except I knocked mine out years ago.
Way to put it all out there Katie! You are awesome!
I just have to say I'm with you on the dentist thing! I've cried the past two times I went... yes, I'm 27 and I cried at the dentist. He told me I had to come back to have more work done. I didn't want to go once, much less come back. :P
Great post!
Nice to meet you!
Loved this post of fun facts. I might have to steal your line for #6. I'm so there with you.
I have adult acne too and I have tried EVERYTHING to get rid of it! Gluten-free, dairy-free, going on the pill, going off the pill, drinking more water, washing without water, clarisonic, etc. What gives?! PS: Love all of these facts! You crack me up!
Ah, we have lot in common....
LOL!
Changing sheets is a death sentence! awfulness..
Ha, great post! Ok, a couple of thing...
I could eat soft served vanilla ice cream morning, noon and night.
I would rather go to ANY doctor than the eye doctor. I have having people or objects that close to my eyes.
I would love if you would come clean my toilets and I will gladly change your sheets :)
Play doh, HATE play doh. Why do my kids love it so much (probably because they NEVER get to play with it!)
Happy Thursday!
awesome! love your facts! :)
Ugh. I hate changing bunk bed sheets, too! I'm ashamed to say I can't really remember the last time I changed my twins bunk bed sheets. Thanks for your list...quirky, interesting, and relatable! :)
Bahahahaa.... you are hilarious :)
Visiting from June&Bear, and I agree with #6 as well!!
