taking one for the team

When everyone else in your house, including the dog, is male, there are times you simply must do things to take one for the team.

Case in point: Camping.

I am not a high maintenance girl by any means. I don't fuss with my hair and make-up too much, I don't get regular manis and pedis, and my wardrobe mainly consists of finds from Target, Old Navy, and Forever 21.

However if there is one thing that camping and I will never see eye to eye on, it is the dirt. No matter how hard you try, it is impossible to keep clean. I like clean.

A lot.

Although I don't have true affection for dirt, I do love the experience camping provides all my guys.

So I suck it up like a true mama and take one for the team.

Here's to memories of time by the campfire, crafting, beach bumming, friends, and family...

when we came home from camping it took me 2 showers to feel clean and the boys bath water was brown, like really brown. dirt is not my friend either!

You are a good mama. There are some things I'm not sure I could take for the team. Maybe God knew I wouldn't be able to handle a house full of boys with the same grace my husband has shown to this house full of girls!

Love the pictures! Such happiness there!

Some of my fondest childhood memories were made camping! I'm looking forward to family camping with the girls (that is if I can convince Brett to go!). So glad to see you had a good time- despite the dirt!

Well you are far more brave than I! I adamantly say "No Thank you" to camping! I would have sent my little family on their way without me! LOL!!! But your pics make it look sorta fun (except the hot coals! OUCH!)

Looks like fun memories were made!
That's what counts right?

ps- we wanted to book a campsite somewhere for the fourth next year. i looked into newport dunes and beach front spots were $399 a night with a minimum five night stay! whaaat? so i looked up san clemente, and i thought, hmmm, that looks like more dirt than I would like. :) lol i guess camping and dirt goes hand in hand. dang.

Such awesome memories and it doesn't look like the hot coals slowed your little man down a bit! :)

Looks like great fun and memories! I camped when I was a child, but haven't been able to persuade myself into doing it again with kids.

girl i feel ya. i am the only girl in a house full of men. i always have to take one for the team. i told the recently that since i always have to do what they want, they need to do what i want once in a while. I think i'm going to make the go to the ballet or opera with me, make them dress up fancy and talk in an english accent.
bwaahahaha.
